 Next week the kids celebrate the biggest holiday in Cambodia, the Khmer New Year. Our children did shopping for New Year, new clothes, shoes and school bags. All the kids will visit their villages for New Year. Sophal will have the longest trip, he goes to visit his grandma, a bus ride of 8 hours and will also have the chance to visit Borin in Siem Reap. I wish them all a happy New Year.

Congratulation Dr. Borin

Mission complete, after 6 years of university studies and two years' of practice in different hospitals Borin defended his final thesis this week and got a job at the same time.
He got a job at the famous Kantha Bopha hospital which was his top priority and furthermore he will work with his favorite topic as pediatrician.
Two wonderful news at the same week, It could not be better, he has worked hard and under hard conditions in order to achieve his goal and he deserve it. We wish him the best for the coming future as a doctor.

Graduation from University

Sony has now completed his university studies as the second student in our project.
He studied marketing and graduated this month.
In the last 4 years he lived, as the only one in our project, in a Catholic church. Our education project paid his university fees and in the first couple of years we helped him by some money for food and other necessities until he found a job and managed his daily costs by himself.
The last couple of years he got only help for university fee.
Sony leave our project now and I hope that his education will be a great help for him in the coming years and open some new doors for him in the future.
Good luck Sony and take care of your self where ever you go.

Summer in Phnom Penh

New school uniforms

 Borin is leaving Phnom Penh tomorrow for the second time this year, he is sent for three months practice at a good hospital in Siem Reap. I decided this time to “invest” in some support for the kids and I found a girl to look after them, help them in doing homework, wash them self and their cloths and just being with them. She will come daily in the coming three months and I hope that it will be a help for all of them.
The kids will continue in public- and private school as usual, they don’t have summer vacation.
Borin spent some money this week buying new cloths for all of them, for daily use and school uniforms.
With this new summer cloths we will wish all of you a good summer where ever you are.
